• Statistical and methodological support for medical registries
  • Contribute to study protocols, final reports and publications of research projects

I joined SwissRDL in November 2018 and now provide statistical and methodological support to the unit’s various medical registries and other research projects. Before coming to Bern I was enjoying extended parental leave with my young daughter. From January 2016 to January 2018 I was an assistant professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the Department of Health Services Research and Policy. Whilst working at LSHTM I was also affiliated with the Clinical Effectiveness Unit at the Royal College of Surgeons of England where I was the methodologist for the National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit (www.nogca.org.uk). Between 2013 and 2015 I was a research fellow at the German Youth Institute in Munich (National Centre for Early Intervention) where I helped design and run the KiD0-3 national prevalence study (www.fruehehilfen.de/forschung-im-nzfh/praevalenz-und-versorgungsforschung). My main contributions related to sampling decisions ensuring national representativeness and the analysis of the complex KiD0-3 dataset. Before that, following MSc and PhD programmes in social statistics at the University of Manchester's Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research, I spent five years as a research associate at the Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRU) at the University of Manchester (http://research.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/pssru) and then maintained an active collaboration as an honorary research associate for another 6 years. The bulk of my research output relates to the various topics covered by the PSSRU, especially integrated services for older people with mental health problems (The Balance of Care).
