Magda Gamba

19.11.2021 – Magda Gamba, PhD student in the Lifestyle and behavior group at the Institute of Social and preventive medicine (ISPM), will be representing ISPM and the University of Bern at the Swiss Pavilion in the Expo-Dubai 2020 at the end of coming January after winning the 2021 SSPH+ ScienceFlashTalk Award together with Ogonna Nwankwo, PhD student at the Swiss TPH.

SSPH+ ScienceFlashTalk training promotes exciting and engaging public health sciences speed-talks.

21 PhD students received a speed-talk training and coaching with communication experts during 2021. They produced a 3-minute video studied by a jury of journalists, leading to eight finalists voted by SSPH+ community members to choose the two winners.

Magda's flash talk presents an overview of her research, supervised by Prof. Oscar Franco and Prof. Marques Vidal. Her project assesses the methods used to develop lifestyle indices and scores and their association with cardiometabolic health outcomes.
