Cardiovascular prevention from childhood to old age: A life course epidemiology perspective

Tuesday, 2018/11/06, 15:00

Prof. Oscar Franco, Prof. Arnaud Chiolero, Prof. Nicolas Rodondi

Much knowledge and evidence to guide the prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) comes from observational and experimental studies conducted among middle-aged adults. However, there is growing evidence that CVD has its roots early in life, starting from conception. Further, due to population ageing, designing prevention strategy across the life course and management of CVD preventive care among old adults are major clinical and public health issues, driving new research areas. Within a life course epidemiology perspective, we will address these issues through research conducted within the ISPM and BIHAM. The BIHAM is also glad to invite you for an apéro for the appointment of Arnaud Chiolero as Associate Professor in Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Bern.
