Research Group: Climate Change and Health

Our research mainly addresses the impacts of climate change on health, with particular focus on the evaluation of adaptation strategies, mitigation policies and air pollution co-benefits. The main research lines are:

  • Evaluation of current and future temperature-related health impacts in Switzerland and overseas.
  • Characterization of the impact of the urban heat island effect on health.
  • Identification of potential etiological mechanisms explaining the association between heat and specific diseases.

The group is member of the Multi-City Multi-Country Collaborative Research Network, and the Oeschger Center of Climate Change Research of the University of Bern.
