Enhancing methods for evaluating the comparative safety of medical interventions

The aim of this project is to advance the methods for synthesising evidence from randomised trials on the safety of interventions by developing and exploring meta-analytical models for correlated rare events and network meta-analyses of adverse events. We will develop multivariate approaches that are expected to increase precision in the estimation of treatment effects. Such an increase in precision is highly desirable when considering safety and rare events.

The project “Enhancing methods for evaluating the comparative safety of medical interventions” is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
