Field of work

I am a specialist in clinical psychology (PIR Residency, Spain). I hold a master’s degree in health psychology and have extensive psychotherapy training. I have a strong interest in rare disease research, particularly the psychosocial aspects of chronic conditions and patient-centred outcomes. I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM), University of Bern. I manage the Living with PCD study, a large international participatory cohort of people with the rare disease primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) and my PhD work at ISPM Bern relates to the epidemiology of PCD, focusing on aspects of social functioning, mental health and psychological wellbeing, treatment burden, and health of women during pregnancy. In my role, I work closely together with patient partners worldwide and research collaborators from different disciplines.
