The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) at the University of Bern provides undergraduate and postgraduate education and carries out interdisciplinary research in the fields of social and behavioural health, clinical epidemiology and biostatistics, and international and environmental health. Eminent speakers from Switzerland and abroad give presentations at lectures where researchers from other institutes and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Workshop
From 30 September to 2 October 2026, the SAGER-Ethics Working Group met in Geneva for a three-day workshop dedicated to advancing the integration of sex and gender considerations into research ethics. The workshop was led by Shirin Heidari and Angèle Gayet-Ageron, who brought together an inspiring group of researchers and experts from different countries and disciplines.
