This research is part of her PhD project, supervised by PD Dr Eliane Rohner and funded by the US National Institutes of Health through the International Epidemiology Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) Southern Africa collaboration (www.iedea-sa.org).

The Graduate School for Health Sciences (www.ghs.unibe.ch) holds an annual symposium that provides PhD students with an opportunity to present their research to their peers. During their doctoral studies, PhD candidates participate twice and present their work both through a poster and a talk. Each year, awards are given for the best poster and the best oral presentation.
