Oral presentation prize at the Kinderklinik Research Day 2023

24.11.2023 – Lorenz Leuenberger received the prize for the best oral presentation on clinical research at the Kinderklinik Research Day 2023 organised by the Kinderklinik of the University hospital Bern.

The research commission of the Kinderklinik Research Day 2023 awarded three prized for the best oral presentations on clinical research, on translational research, and on case studies. For his talk on “Height, weight, and BMI in Swiss children: the SwissPedGrowth project” Lorenz Leuenberger received the prize for the best oral presentation on clinical research. Lorenz Leuenberger is a PhD student in the Child and Adolescent Health group at the ISPM Bern, supervised by Prof. Claudia Kühni, and is enrolled in the Graduate School for Health Sciences. The talk outlined the protocol of the SwissPedGrowth project. Besides checking the availability and quality of anthropometric measurements in electronic health records, the study will assess the validity of currently used growth curves and will estimate prevalence of childhood obesity on a national level. SwissPedGrowth will include all children that visited the children’s hospitals Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Lucerne, or St. Gallen between 2017 and 2023. The SwissPedGrowth project is nested in the Paediatric National Data Stream SwissPedHealth which is funded by the Swiss Personalized Health Network and the Personalized Health and Related Technologies.
