Anna, a PhD candidate in the Palliative Care and End of Life Research Group led by Prof. Dr. Sofia C. Zambrano, presented preliminary findings from her qualitative study, «Key Stakeholder Perceptions of Medical Students’ Training to Identify and Manage Their Emotions for Future Patient Care».
Her research explores how faculty members, learning facilitators, medical students, and resident physicians perceive the emotional preparedness of medical students and future physicians, particularly regarding their self-directed emotion skills. The study highlights an important and often under-examined component of medical training with implications for future curricula development.
This study is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF). Anna is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Health Sciences and is aiming to complete her PhD early summer 2026.
