SAGER-Ethics Working Group Workshop brings together international experts in Geneva

SAGER-Ethics Working Group Workshop

09.10.2026 – From 30 September to 2 October 2026, the SAGER-Ethics Working Group met in Geneva for a three-day workshop dedicated to advancing the integration of sex and gender considerations into research ethics. The workshop was led by Shirin Heidari and Angèle Gayet-Ageron, who brought together an inspiring group of researchers and experts from different countries and disciplines.

Over the course of three days, participants shared their expertise, perspectives and ideas and worked together to further develop the SAGER-Ethics recommendations. The workshop provided a highly engaging and collegial environment for exchange, reflection and collaboration. Beyond the fruitful discussions, the meeting was a wonderful opportunity to connect in person, exchange experiences and strengthen international collaboration. The commitment, openness and enthusiasm of everyone involved made the workshop a particularly enriching experience.

A heartfelt thank you to all participants for their active engagement, thoughtful contributions and dedication to this important work. We are very grateful for the energy, expertise and spirit that each of you brought to the group.

The workshop was generously supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) through a Scientific Exchange Grant and by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS). We warmly thank both organisations for their support in making this international exchange possible.
