The registry is an essential resource for cerebral palsy research in Switzerland. In connection with this financial commitment, Foundation Cerebral published an interview with the Swiss-CP-Reg project manager Anne Tscherter, in their Merci magazine.
Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common motor disability in childhood. It describes a group of permanent disorders of movement and posture that follow injuries to the developing brain. CP can be accompanied by a wide range of comorbidities.
The Swiss Cerebral Palsy Registry (Swiss-CP-Reg) provides a platform for research and knowledge exchange on CP. The Swiss-CP-Reg aims to optimize treatment and improve the health and quality of life of people living with CP.
The registry is led by specialized pediatricians and experts. Claudia Kuehni is the head of the Swiss-CP-Reg. It is hosted at the ISPM and managed by Anne Tscherter and Sandra Hunziker.
The Swiss-CP-Reg has received 175 000 CHF per year for five years from Foundation Cerebral. This support ensures the continued operation and expansion of the registry, enabling more comprehensive data collection, which in turn facilitates research to improve the care and quality of life of people with CP. The commitment from Foundation Cerebral is especially significant, as donors usually prefer to support specific research projects rather than to fund core work to maintain a platform for potential research projects.
In connection with this financial commitment, Foundation Cerebral conducted an interview with Anne, the project manager of the Swiss-CP-Reg.
Anne discusses the importance of the Swiss-CP-Reg and its ongoing partnership with Foundation Cerebral. The interview was published in Foundation Cerebral’s information magazine Merci (issue 3/2024, in German, French and Italian).
The Swiss-CP-Reg and Foundation Cerebral are united in their aim to support and promote the health and quality of life of people living with CP in Switzerland.
