The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) at the University of Bern provides undergraduate and postgraduate education and carries out interdisciplinary research in the fields of social and behavioural health, clinical epidemiology and biostatistics, and international and environmental health. Eminent speakers from Switzerland and abroad give presentations at monthly lectures where researchers from other institutes and members of the public are welcome to attend.

National Fellowship
Severin Fankhauser, PhD student at ISPM Bern, has been awarded a Swiss National MD-PhD Fellowship by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMW). The national fellowship supports talented young physicians in pursuing research careers as clinician-scientists.

Presentation Prize
Tiara Greber received the prize for the best oral presentation on clinical research at the Kinderklinik Research Day 2025 organised by the Kinderklinik of the University Hospital Bern.
